“The great difference between voyages rests not with the ships, but with the people you meet on them”
Someone said so true!! With travel comes an adventure, fun, exploration and meeting new people across the world. I personally love interacting with new people and making new friends. While I write, I’m thinking about this picture of us at Panama Canal, our first onboard journey together. Hardly we knew each other, but our smiles say all about our bonding in so less time. I think about the magic of making friends while traveling and about all the people I’ve met over these years. I have memories with each of them, whether snappy or fuzzy, they make me beam. I never had to do anything extraordinary or go out of the way to meet these people. All I did was getting on a bus or train or plane or ship and heading off to a new destination. That’s it. Very little effort but huge rewards.
And not just me but everyone who loves travelling and keep roving to new places experience this. Meeting wanderers across blue waters in the journey or locals as soon as we arrive at our destination. And everyone is so diverse. Some are funny and friendly, some are serious and boring, some are systematic while some are sloppy, some are too cautious, some are utterly careless, some are singers, some are acrobats, some likes to trek, while some like to just relax by the beach, some are singles while some have lovely families. Different but one common goal. To see the world, to explore new destinations.
Doesn’t matter from where you come or what potentials you have, you share passionate and fun and unforgettable experiences together. Bonding over a meal or a walk or a swim, you learn and understand each other, in a very short period of time. And then, of course, time comes when we have to say goodbye. Some remain in our lives, in our memories and in our heart forever, while some fade away.
But what matters, is, that we met them!! And with the new upcoming destination, some more are waiting. Either way, it’s all good.
