Hello friends. Life is all about living it to the fullest, laughing hard, making friends, falling in love, travelling the world, achieving your goals, reaching new heights and doing whatever you wish to. But one thing, which is paramount, to all this is, staying fit and healthy. Healthy body means healthy mind and happy life. Of course physical exercises are must to keep the prefect balance between body and mind, but one thing which is of utmost importance for a healthy living is ‘Eating Right.’ Not only we should watch how much we eat but also ‘what are we eating.’ The right food for our body works wonder and help us to stay fit and strong. Basically I am a foodie but recently I have switched to a healthier diet and most important part of my diet plan are “Smoothies.” They are fresh, full of nutrients, give you energy and make a complete meal.
Today I will tell you all about few wholesome and delicious smoothies you can blend in no time and give yourself a delightful treat with no guilt. Have as much as you want and all you will get in return is glowing skin, sharper mind and an energetic physique.
Pomegranate Banana Smoothie– This is one of my favourite smoothies. Nutritious and easy to prepare. Take a pomegranate and scoop out all its seeds. Slice 2-3 bananas and transfer both pomegranate seeds and banana slices into a blender. Add 3-4 spoons of plain greek or flavoured yoghurt (as per your wish). Now add few drops of honey and blend the entire mixture. Pour smoothie into a glass and you are good to go!!
Green Smoothie– I would prefer calling this the healthiest smoothie till now, loaded with some of the healthiest ingredients, like spinach, carrot, apple, mint, banana and pomegranate. And its super quick to prepare. Just chop a handful of spinach, 2-3 carrots, an apple and scoop out seeds from a pomegranate. Put them all in a blender and now add 3-4 spoonful of plain or flavoured greek yoghurt along with 4-5 mint leaves. Blend it nicely and pour into glasses. Top it up with almonds and wild raspberry yoghurt. A Perfect, yummy and refreshing smoothie is ready!!
Beetroot Smoothie– This is again a very healthy and most yummy smoothie I had till now. What I love most about this one is its colour. Chop 2 beetroots and 2 carrots into small pieces. Slice 2 bananas and transfer all these ingredients into a blender. Now add some finely chopped ginger (2-3 small slices) and 3-4 spoonful of plain or flavoured greek yoghurt. Blend all ingredients, pour into glasses and top it up with almonds or walnuts.
Guava Ginger smoothie– A very fresh and different smoothie keeping in mind it has guava in it. Take a fresh fully ripen guava and chop it into small pieces. Put it into a blender and now add few (2-3) slices of ginger into it. Add 3-4 spoonful of plain or flavoured greek yoghurt and blend all the ingredients nicely. Pour into glasses and top it up with some fresh strawberries as it enhances the taste. Enjoy!!
Detox Smoothie– Full of Spinach and cucumber this smoothie is perfect for detoxification and tastes extremely delectable at the same time. Take a handful of spinach and chop it nicely. Now dice 2 cucumbers and a green apple into small pieces and transfer them all into blender. Add 3-4 spoonful of plain or flavoured greek yoghurt, 3-4 drops of honey and blend nicely. Pour into glasses, top it up with green apple slices and relish this green detox smoothie.
Kiwi Smoothie– In a blender, add 2-3 kiwi fruits washed and sliced properly, 2 bananas, half apple cut into slices, 3-4 spoonful of plain greek yoghurt and few drops of honey. Blend them all together and serve with fresh kiwi slices on top.
Tomato Smoothie– Full of sweet & tangy tomatoes this smoothie is perfect for some instant freshness. In a blender add 3-4 chopped tomatoes, 1 carrot, around half a bowl of pomegranate seeds and 3-4 spoonful of plain greek yoghurt. Blend them all and a refreshing smoothie full of antioxidants and freshness is ready to serve.
Carrot Apple Smoothie– In a blender add 4-5 finely chopped carrots (washed and peeled), 2 finely chopped apples and 3-4 thin slices of ginger. Now add 3-4 spoonful of plain greek yoghurt and blend all ingredients together. Pour into glasses and top up with fresh pomegranate seeds and almonds.
Strawberry Spinach smoothie– Chop around 10-15 strawberries and add a handful of chopped spinach with it into the blender. Now slice around 2-3 bananas into the blender, add 3-4 spoonful of plain or strawberry flavoured greek yoghurt and few drops of honey. Blend them all together and pour into glasses. Top it up with walnuts or finely chopped strawberries.
Papaya Banana Smoothie– In a blender add around 15-20 pieces of papaya along with 2-3 bananas sliced properly. If you want you can add few pieces of apple. Add 3-4 spoonful of plain greek yoghurt and few drops of honey. Blend all ingredients together and serve this healthy drink.
Watermelon Banana Smoothie– Along with 15-20 pieces of freshly cut watermelon, add 2 bananas sliced properly, along with 5-6 strawberries and few pieces of apple. Add 3-4 spoonful of plain greek yoghurt and few drops of honey. Blend them all together, pour into glasses and feel the freshness this smoothie has.
In all these smoothies you can add normal/plain rolled oats if you want your smoothie to be more heavy and filling. Toppings can be changed according to your taste and flavour. Also in summers you can add some ice cubes to have a mouthwatering chilling smoothie. All these smoothies are prepared with simplest of ingredients everyone can find around and indulge in healthful drinks every morning.
I have tried all these recipes recently and they are now my favourite option for breakfast. Post work out I love to pamper myself with these freshly blend smoothies and create my own combinations every day. Not only they taste good, but are healthy and provide me with all essential nutrients and energy. And needless to say, zero fat!!
